The cold water is branched off in front of the mixer tap and passed through the heat exchanger.

The warm shower water falls from the shower head with 38ºC and falls over the showering matt with the heat exchanger,  and heats (without direct contact) the cold fresh water by 10-15°C.

The cold water, now preheated, is fed back into the shower mixer tap.

Less hot water needs to be added to the already preheated cold water to reach the usual shower temperature.

The water heater has to work less and thus saves energy.

The product is fully fabricated in Europe in factories certified with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, DV-GL, and CE, ensuring the highest standards of quality.

The system and shower tray performances were tested and certified in external institutes.

Compliance with EN 1717 Standards

Our Waste Water Heat Recovery System (WWHSR) is designed and in full compliance with the EN 1717 standards, ensuring the highest levels of safety and efficiency.

Designed for Category 2 and 3 Fluids:

Our WWHSR is specifically designed to handle Category 2 and 3 fluids. These fluids are classified as posing a slight to moderate health risk but do not involve hazardous substances.

Safe and Secure Installation:

The system is installed in a clean area within the shower, prior to the siphon, ensuring it is not exposed to any potentially hazardous environments such as gases or liquids from sewage systems. This installation method guarantees that the WWHSR only interacts with clean shower water, maintaining a safe environment for heat recovery.

Robust Single-Wall Construction:

In accordance with EN 1717 standards (Article 5.3.2 and Article 5.4.1.1), our WWHSR uses a single-wall heat exchanger as the system is not exposed to environments that could pose a higher risk of contamination. Additionally, a membrane valve is also available to prevent backflow siphonage, ensuring the protection of the potable water supply.

Ease of Access for Maintenance:

The system includes a lightweight wooden cover or soft lid that can be easily lifted, providing straightforward access to the heat exchanger. This feature allows for quick and efficient inspection and cleaning, further ensuring the system’s safe operation and longevity.

Heat Recovery:

The shower mat incorporates a heat exchanger that captures the heat from the outgoing grey water (waste water) as it drains from the shower. This captured heat is then transferred to the incoming cold water supply.

Preheated Water Supply:

By preheating the cold water with the recovered heat, the WWHRS Shower Mat reduces the demand for hot water from your boiler or water heater. This means that less energy is needed to heat the water to the desired temperature, resulting in energy savings.

Reduced Boiler Usage:

With the preheated water supply, your boiler or water heater doesn’t have to work as hard to reach the desired temperature, thereby reducing its energy consumption.
